The Shepherd Pope of Rome, The theme of loving song: Let all the earth his glory sing And heav’n the strain prolong. Beleaguered by By the foes of earth, Beset by hosts of hell, He guards the loyal flock of Christ, A watchful sentinel: And yet, amid the din and strife, The clash of mace and sword, He bears alone the Shepherd Staff, The champion of the Lord." What an abomination is this hymn to the pope. EWTN demonstrates quite clearly how Catholics have an idolatrous view of the man they call "Holy Father." Only God is our Holy Father, and to use a title Jesus used for His heavenly Father on a mere man is nothing short of blasphemy. "Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are" John 17:11. Jesus spoke these words in a prayer for unity among His followers. True followers of the Lord Jesus Christ will see God and only God as the one whose "rule is over space and time." Only our heavenly Holy Father has "His throne the heart of men." Only Jesus deserves our praise for His glory. Heaven does not sing praises to any earthly so-called father, but only to the Creator in Heaven. Jesus "guards the loyal flock of Christ," and loyal men will follow Him and Him alone. Our true Shepherd did not turn over His staff to any mortal would-be messiah. Anyone who can sing such a hymn of praise to the ailing man in Rome is a traitor to our Heavenly Holy Father and needs to renounce such blasphemy.
